Greetings in Russian

These are very simple words and phrases in Russian which might help you when you need to communicate in a simple way. They are divided by informal and formal greetings. Estas son palabras y frases simples en ruso que a lo mejor podrán ayudarles para comunicarse en una manera sencilla. Están divididos por saludos informales y formales. Las traducciones están en ingles y en español. Si tienes alguna pregunta o una sugestión, deja un comentario abajo. Gracias!

Formal

  • Здравствуйте– Hello, Hola
  • Как вас зовут?What’s your name?, Cual es su nombre?
  • очень приятно I’m pleased to meet you, Gusto en conocerlo
  • как у вас дела? – How are you?, Como esta usted? 
  • извините  excuse me, sorry, pardon me; con permiso, perdon, perdoneme 

Informal

  • Здравствуй – Hi, Hola
  • привет – Hey, Hola
  • как тевя зовут?What’s your name? , Como te llamas?
  • как поживаешь?– How are you?, How are you doing?; Como estas?
  • как дела? – How are things doing?, Como están las cosas?
  • что нового? – What’s new?, Que hay de nuevo?
  • а у тебя? – and you?, y tu?

Ways to reply that applies to both (formal & informal)

  • доброе утро good morning, buenos dias
  • добрый день good afternoon, buenas tardes
  • добрый вечерgood night, buenas noches
  • очень хорошо very good, muy bien
  • прекрасно fine, bien
  • спасибоthank you, gracias
  • так себе so so, mas o menos
  • как обычно as usual, como siempre
  • неплохо not bad, nada mal
  • плохо bad, mal
  • ужасно terribly, muy mal
  • отлично excellent, excelente
  • пожалуйстаplease, por favor

    1. Thank you so much! I was taking classes here in DC but unfortunately it wasn’t going to fit with the rest of the credits that I have to complete by the time I graduate. Yes if I have a question in regards to Russian grammar I will ask you. Много спасибо!
